Our History
Yahle Landscaping and Sod has been a trusted provider of landscaping services in the Dayton, Ohio area since 1926. We are a family-owned and operated business that has been built on the principles of hard work, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Our story began when our founder, Leontine and John Yahle, started traveling from state to state, landscaping government housing projects. The process of growing and harvesting sod was labor-intensive, with sod being cut by hand and stacked on a truck. The 1950s saw the emergence of sod farming, and our family began growing sod in West Milton, Ohio. Along with sod, we also grew evergreens and shrubs.
In the 1960s, Bob Yahle Sr. began operating Yahle Landscaping, taking advantage of the housing boom in Dayton. He designed and installed landscapes in large condo and housing developments, including Patriot Square, Valley Brook, Turtle Creek, and Salem Woods.
Today, the company is run by Bob's son, Rob Yahle Jr. Rob has two sons, Robert Z. and Andrew, and a daughter, Miranda, ensuring the family tradition continues.
