Our History
Our organization has a long and storied history that dates back to 1928. We were founded by Marion Scruggs, who traveled to New York City to help start our parent organization. Since then, we have grown and evolved to become one of the largest and most respected garden clubs in the state.
Our Headquarters
Our state headquarters is located in Fort Worth, Texas, and is home to our staff and also functions as a garden meeting center. Our headquarters is located on the grounds of the beautiful Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, across the parking lot from the Garden Center and Conservatory. We also have a large library with over 10,000 horticulture books and over 200 videos on all phases of gardening.
Our Districts
We have divided the state into 10 distinct districts, each with its own unique characteristics and needs. Our districts include the Panhandle, Plains, Hill Country, Gulf Coast, East Texas, Southeast Texas, Central Texas, West Texas, North Texas, and South Texas.
Our Future
As we look to the future, we are committed to continuing our mission of promoting the love of gardening and floral design. We will continue to offer our range of services and programs, including workshops, seminars, and flower shows. We will also continue to promote conservation and sustainability efforts and to preserve and protect the natural resources of our state.
