At Dr. Green Thumb Landscapes, we take pride in being a family-owned and operated commercial and residential landscaping company, proudly serving Edmond, Guthrie, Arcadia, and North OKC areas since 2007. We have recently expanded our services to include landscape design and installation in Stillwater. Our mission is to create beautiful landscapes while providing premium customer service.
Our Story
Founded by Shane Varnell, Dr. Green Thumb began as a dream in early childhood. Shane's entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by mowing lawns around Stillwater, Oklahoma, to earn spending money. As he pursued a Bachelor's degree at Oklahoma State University, Shane ran a small landscaping business, offering niche services of landscape installation and maintenance at local doctors' offices. With extensive training in customer service from his time at Sewell Automotive Company in Dallas, TX, Shane developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
After graduating, Shane accepted a position with Sewell Automotive Company, where he successfully led a sales and finance department. However, the desire to own and operate his own landscaping company grew stronger. In the spring of 2007, Shane realized his dream, and as Dr. Green Thumb, began fulfilling his passion for the outdoors, horticulture, and creative design.
