Our Story

At Seely's Landscape Nursery, we take pride in our rich history and heritage. Founded by Roger B. Seely in 1969, our business has evolved over the years to become a premier provider of landscaping services, nursery supplies, and design expertise. Our journey began with a passion for horticulture, architecture, and building, which led Roger to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Horticulture and a minor in Landscape Architecture from Ohio State University.

From Germany to Columbus

After his military service in Germany, Roger returned to the United States and started German Village Landscape in 1970. Specializing in dwarf conifers and Old World charm, his designs quickly gained popularity in the Columbus area. In 1978, he expanded his business by opening the German Village Garden Garage, which focused on perennials, annuals, herbs, and water plants.

A New Era and Expansion

In 1988, Roger moved his design offices and garden center to Hilliard and combined it with his existing nursery, Seely's Plant Ranch, to form Seely's Landscape Nursery/German Village Landscape. This marked the beginning of a new era for our business, as we started to incorporate a wide range of plants and services into our design and installation work. With the expertise of his sons, Roger Jr. and Jered, we expanded our services to include shade gardening, water gardens, and architectural features like patios, seating walls, and fire pits.
