Led by Principal Silvia Erskine, a registered architect, landscape architect, and interior designer, our team is committed to crafting timeless, functional, and elegant designs that meet the unique needs and desires of our clients.

Our Story

With over 20 years of experience, our firm has established a reputation for delivering exceptional designs that exceed our clients' expectations. Principal Silvia Erskine has received numerous awards and accolades for her work, including the Connecticut ASLA Honor Award and the Connecticut ASLA Merit Award. Silvia has also received recognition for her community service, serving on the Co-President of the Redding Land Trust and earning a commendation from the State of Connecticut for her role as a Founding Member of the Town of Westport Tree Board.

Our Process

At Erskine Associates, we believe that design is a collaborative process that requires active listening, clear communication, and a commitment to our clients' visions. Our design process is structured into four phases: Programming, Master Plan/Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Document, and Bidding/Negotiation and Construction Observation.

In the Programming Phase, we work closely with clients to refine our understanding of their needs and desires, identifying key design priorities and budgetary criteria. This phase sets the stage for our work together, ensuring that we are aligned with our clients' goals from the outset.

The Master Plan/Schematic Design Phase marks the beginning of our design journey together. We integrate the information gathered during the Programming Phase to create conceptual designs for our clients to review. This is a critical phase, as it allows us to explore options, discuss stylistic preferences and budget, and ensure that we are heading in the right direction.

In the Design Development and Construction Document Phase, we refine the concepts approved during the previous phase, developing the specific details and materials that will bring our designs to life. Our team works closely with clients to ensure that the technical documents we create meet their needs and surpass their expectations.

Finally, in the Bidding/Negotiation and Construction Observation Phase, we work closely with our clients to evaluate bids, select the best contractors for the job, and ensure that the construction process is seamless and stress-free. This phase marks the final stage of our collaborative design process, where we work tirelessly to ensure that our clients' visions are realized.
