The Indianapolis Landscape Association (ILA) is a professional organization that has been serving the landscape industry in the Indianapolis metropolitan area since 1942. Our mission is to promote high ethical standards in the local landscape industry, to further member knowledge about landscaping and related matters, and to act collectively upon matters affecting the landscape industry.
Our History
The ILA was organized on March 16, 1942, in the office of the Midwestern Tree Experts Company in New Augusta, Indiana. The purpose of the organization was to promote better acquaintance and fellowship among local nursery and landscaping firms, to encourage high ethical standards, and to further membership knowledge of green industry matters.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to:
- Promote high ethical standards in the local landscape industry
- Further member knowledge about landscaping and related matters
- Spread awareness of, encourage communication about, and act collectively upon matters affecting the landscape industry
- Stimulate and promote the interest of the public in landscaping
- Promote the landscape industry as a career opportunity
- Assist financially the educational development of promising individuals pursuing a course of study in landscaping

Membership
We offer two types of membership: Regular and Allied. Regular members are eligible to vote and hold office, while Allied members are not. Membership dues are $300 per year and are due on February 1st of each year.
Events
The ILA hosts a range of events throughout the year, including our annual Garden Party, Holiday Party, and Golf Outing. We also partner with other organizations to bring you valuable educational programs and events.
Scholarship
The ILA offers a scholarship to students pursuing a course of study in landscaping. The scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in an accredited program and meet certain eligibility criteria.
