Empowering Landscape Architects to Shape the Future

The New Jersey Association of Society of Landscape Architects (NJASLA) is the NJ Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, a national organization of Landscape Architects formed in 1899. With over 17,600 members, our organization aims to promote the profession of Landscape Architecture in New Jersey.

History of NJASLA

NJASLA has a rich history in providing local services to NJ member Landscape Architects. Through the years, our organization has strived to keep our members informed on important issues through regular updates on our website, weekly newsletters, and email announcements.

Annual Meeting

Every year, our members gather at our annual meeting, a three-day event filled with seminars, continuing education, and networking opportunities. This event is attended by nearly 600 professionals annually.

Advocacy

NJASLA has been instrumental in advocating for the rights of Landscape Architects in New Jersey. In 2008, we successfully petitioned the New Jersey State Legislature to adopt new legislation, recognizing the important role Landscape Architects play in providing environmentally responsible places and spaces. In 2013, we also achieved adopted regulation to enforce the practice provisions of the 2008 legislation, allowing Landscape Architects to propose the location of buildings and their relationship to the site and immediate environs.

Executive Committee

Our Executive Committee is composed of dedicated professionals who are committed to the advancement of the profession of Landscape Architecture in New Jersey. Our committee consists of:

  • Secretary: Giovanni Caputo, Assoc. ASLA, LEED GA
  • Treasurer: Anthony Parziale, LLA, ASLA
