Our Story

Kollman's Greenhouse and Garden Center has been a cherished fixture in the Northeast Ohio community since 1972. What started as Herrick's Greenhouse, under the guidance of Scott Kollman, blossomed into a family-owned and operated business with a dedication to providing exceptional plant material and customer service. With the addition of his wife, Sue, to the enterprise, the green oasis became known as Kollman's Greenhouse.

The legacy continued in 2016 when Scott and Sue's daughter, Betsy Kollman Bresky, and her husband Derrick, took the reins, ushering in a second generation of passionate green thumbs. Now, with the arrival of their son, James, in 2016, the third generation is poised to contribute their own unique talents and enthusiasm to the family business.

Guided by a deep love of horticulture and a dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry, Betsy, Derrick, and their team continually seek out the newest plant varieties and technologies to meet the evolving needs of their customers.

Betsy's extensive horticultural background, including a B.S. in Horticulture from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Horticulture from Cornell University, informs her keen eye for quality and her passion for sharing her knowledge with others. She brings professional experience as a researcher and developer from Four Star Greenhouse, a prominent member of Proven Winners, where she traveled globally, discovering innovative plants for widespread cultivation. Derrick, with his skilled engineering background, ensures the greenhouse operates at peak efficiency, creating the perfect environment for healthy plant growth.
