The Aiken Master Gardener Association (AMGA) is a group of passionate volunteers dedicated to enriching the community through educational outreach on horticulture and environmental stewardship. Composed of dedicated individuals with diverse backgrounds, we share a common love for plants, gardens, and the outdoors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to:
- Empower individuals to achieve healthy landscapes and gardens.
- Foster a sense of environmental responsibility through education and action.
- Engage the community through educational workshops, consultations, and outreach programs.
1. Consultations & Educational Programs
- Personalized gardening consultations for individuals and organizations.
- Educational workshops and seminars on a variety of gardening topics.
- Lunch & Learn sessions featuring expert speakers on diverse horticultural themes.
2. Outreach & Community Engagement
- Delivering horticulture presentations to schools, garden clubs, and community organizations.
- Hosting plant clinics and workshops for youth groups.
- Participating in local events to share our passion for gardening with the community.
3. Resource & Information Sharing
- Maintaining a comprehensive online resource hub with gardening information, tips, and local resources.
- Publishing the annual Master Gardener Almanac for Aiken and Vicinity.
- Providing access to soil testing services to assess and improve garden health.
4. Volunteer Opportunities
- Becoming a Master Gardener Volunteer and receiving extensive training.
- Joining our Speakers Bureau and sharing your gardening expertise with the community.
- Contributing to various committees and projects.
